So at this point in the tattoo debate (an on going debate of $$$, how my wife feels people will perceive me, and to some extent my gender ) is down to:

My wife is not a fan of tattoos with words. (and the tattoo will have “no gods, no masters, no (gender?) binary” )
She strongly prefers “no binary” over “no gender binary” since it is more inclusive. (I’m still on the fence with this, i figured with no gender binary I would cross out the binary (no or later) to get “no gender b̶i̶n̶a̶r̶y̶”)
The possibility of finding a more feminine anarchy symbol. :)

The idea here is that I am being considerate and trying to get buy-in (to synergize our brand marketing strategy), I figure next week is out since everyone will be busy getting shamrocks on their asses or something.

But I hope after that I can get something that marks where I am right now in my life.

Fiddly bits, how we go through life, and everything in between. She’s particularly concerned with the vision of our future wherein I become a father.

Of course the whole gamut. I phrased my response/question badly :/

We have three kids, so this was not a concern in our situation. However the question of kids would have been a deal breaker for my wife, as much as I wanted/needed to fix my body, my wife wanted/needed kids. Neither are completely selfless acts (or everyone would adopt …), having kids and adjusting your body is hard so most people expect to get something out of it.

“Fatherhood”: (30 seconds)

Banking sperm is not cheap but not super expensive. IVF (which can be ruinous financially) in certain states is covered by health insurance. But that is a tough road. There is adoption, sperm donation (I know people who have asked their brothers …). But the question of kids is tough.

One of the two forms I signed before getting hormones was that I fully understood the reproductive consequences.

Parenthood: (a life time ;) )

Kids in general are pretty flexible when it comes to gender, my youngest daughter is a “princess” addict, she seems to want very defined gender roles (no matter what we say), but I seem to get special dispensation. My other two are much more chill about it. That said I doubt that I will ever “pass”, I gave up on that long ago and it does not seem to bother me too much. I’m not sure if that is more or less difficult for kids. The kids do occasionally ask awkward questions of their friends fathers, I usually let them panic for a few seconds, and then explain that the people can choose not to shave their legs.

I am MUCH happier/content now on hormones then before, I think my whole family experiences that.

To sum up, I have no answers, except that you can’t hide from it.
